Dethany says: these were all mostly during the 2 months i had put in the heat shrink tubing. these were actually around the dreads encapsulating them, not just tied in for a change. to put all of them in took about three hours. poke a hole in a washcloth, get it sopping wet, and slip the piece of hair through the hole and then put on the tube over the hair and heatgun it. this way, you won't fry any of the surrounding hair, or at least you will be less likely to burn too much of it or your skin. the best way to do this probably not to do it at all, but rather to do it around shorter hair as the dreads inside got pretty damaged because i made the mistake of washing it a few times. it probably isn't such a bad idea if you can deal with not washing it. the water got inside and started to decay the human hair even though i poked holes in them for the water to potentially escape. after taking it all out, i had a lot of dread repair to do (like totally sewing them back together.) the advantage of doing this was the the heat shrink tube is VERY light, so you can put a lot of it in and your scalp doesn't hurt. also, it is pretty stiff and rigid so it goes all over the place. :) in the last picture, you can really see the lights better in the dark. |
